OGABI
The story of Dogabi passed down from ancient times was told that Dogabi who had mysterious power as god appeared in different forms and brought luck or punishment to human. They frighten human with a bizarre face, playing mischievous tricks on human with childlike innocence, giving an abundance of life with a generous smile.
* Dogabi is an old Korean word meaning goblin.

The Blue Cloud Eye That Banished the Drought Spirit and the Sweet Rain Laughter (가뭄 귀신을 쫓아낸 푸른 구름 눈과 단비 웃음)
- English: Once upon a time, beneath a cloud rock in a deep valley where red earth and blue stones intertwined, lived a Dokkaebi named "Gureum-nuni," who governed blue clouds and the winds.

- English: Gureum-nuni wore jade-colored clouds around his forehead and chin, and set in the center of his face was a single, luminous blue eye that looked as if it held a crystal-clear lake. His large horns extending sideways had the power to open and close the sky's cloud paths, so whenever Gureum-nuni exhaled deeply, fragrant grassy breezes wafted through every mountain valley.

As the drought spirit breathed out red, scorching winds, the well water dried to the bottom, the paddy fields cracked like a turtle's shell, and the villagers began falling ill with burning thirst.

- English: Gureum-nuni set his sleek side horns upright and charged straight toward the drought spirit. As a dazzling aquatic radiance burst from the blue eye on his forehead, the true form of the hidden drought spirit spewing fiery winds was fully exposed.

The scorching heat exhaled by the drought spirit was extinguished in an instant by Gureum-nuni's cool cloud winds, and the startled spirit fled terrified beyond the distant sea.

Thus, Gureum-nuni became the sacred raincloud guardian spirit who coolly refreshes parched lives and nurtures bountiful harvests.
