A ceramic work that captures condensed power within the solid, weighty texture of black clay, evocative of forged cast iron. The sleek horn rising from the center of the forehead and the deep black incised lines form a central axis of steadfast energy, while the subtle traces of blue glaze around the eyes paired with the fiercely gleaming golden pupils reveal a razor-sharp insight that never lets malevolent spirits escape, even in pitch darkness. The firmly exposed teeth and the orderly traditional motifs grounding the base embody the resolute dignity of a guardian spirit and the steadfast will of byeoksa (warding off evil), firmly subduing sinister forces to protect the sacred integrity of the space.
