Front: A ceramic jar with a rich terracotta body, featuring an intricately carved Dogabi motif on the front. The detailed forehead pattern, central eyes, and sharp teeth are finished with 23.5K liquid gold accents, while the side horns are rendered in a matte black glaze.

Back: The detailed carved patterns flow seamlessly around to the back. The natural texture of the terracotta is prominent at the rim and base, completing the substantial, hand-crafted form.

STORY OF DOGABI
The story of Dogabi passed down from ancient times was told that Dogabi who had mysterious power as god appeared in different forms and brought luck or punishment to human. They frighten human with a bizarre face, playing mischievous tricks on human with childlike innocence, giving an abundance of life with a generous smile.
* Dogabi is an old Korean word meaning goblin.

Huin-bau, Guardian of the Moonlit Rocky Mountain (달빛 바위산의 지킴이 '흰바우')

• English: Long ago, on the slopes of a deep, moonlit rocky mountain, lived a Dokkaebi named "Huin-bau," born only of pure white clay and clear morning dew.
  • 한국어: 아주 먼 옛날, 달빛이 환하게 비치는 깊은 바위산 중턱에는 순백의 하얀 흙과 맑은 이슬만을 머금고 태어난 도깨비 '흰바우'가 살고 있었습니다.
• English: Huin-bau possessed a pristine white body capable of instantly purifying every foul energy in the world, with sturdy inky horns upon his shoulders and an unquenchable sacred flame burning around his eyes.
  • 한국어: 흰바우는 세상의 온갖 더러운 기운을 단숨에 정화하는 새하얀 몸을 지녔으며, 양어깨에는 든든한 먹빛 뿔을 세우고 눈가에는 꺼지지 않는 신성한 불꽃을 품고 있었습니다.
• English: One year during a bitter famine, "Jealous Dark Cloud Spirits"—born from human greed and envy—covered the entire village. As these cloud spirits seeped into every nook and cranny of people's homes, villagers grew distrustful and bitter toward one another, and laughter and good fortune ebbed away like the tide.

• English: Watching this unfold, Huin-bau stepped firmly atop a massive boulder at the village entrance.

• English: As Huin-bau glared, igniting the flames around his eyes, clear, luminous rays burst forth, brightly exposing the jealous cloud spirits hiding in every dark corner of the homes. Huin-bau then opened his firmly shut mouth wide to reveal his golden fangs, letting out a roaring laugh—"Ho-ho-ho!"

From that time on, it is said that wherever Huin-bau's image resides, envy and strife vanish, bringing family harmony and an abundance of golden good fortune.
